Grade 8 Student & Parent Information Evening - Tuesday January 15, 2019 @ 6:30pm

Posted On Thursday December 06, 2018
St. Mary Catholic Secondary School welcomes Grade 8 students who wish to attend St. Mary in September 2019 and their parents/guardians to join us on Tuesday January 15th at 6:30pm for our Grade 8 Parent Information Evening.

This year, we have secured Yemisi, our public health nurse, to give a parent talk on mental well-being as our students transition to high school. This will be held in the library at 6:30pm before the main event begins at 7pm in the cafeteria.

There will be information sessions highlighting various programs at St. Mary, such as Extended French, Pre-Advanced Placement (AP) English, Pre-Advanced Placement (AP) Math, Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM), and Cooperative Education. Guidance will also be on hand to present an overview of the registration process and how to select courses for Grade 9. Parents/guardians will also have the opportunity to visit different departments around the school to learn more about the various compulsory and elective (e.g., Arts, Business, and Technology) courses offered through a self-guided tour.

Students from our associate DCDSB elementary schools and from other local elementary schools are invited to attend. Our Guidance and Admin Teams will be available to discuss the registration process for students who do not currently attend Father Fenelon, St. Elizabeth Seton, St. Isaac Jogues, St. Joseph, St. Monica, St. Wilfrid, or Holy Family.

Event registration for this evening is not required! Please contact St. Mary Guidance at 905-420-7166 ext 56020 for more information.
